Iphone Repair

IPhone Repair Doesn't Have to Be Complicated

Executive Summary about Iphone Repair by Jeff Gasner

As Apple seeks to move 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008, cell repair services ramp up preparation for iPhone repairs, anticipating that many consumers won't seek repairs through Apple's official avenues.

Although Apple typically warranties all iPhones for one calendar year from the date of purchase, several factors contribute to the likelihood that consumers will turn instead to alternative options for their iPhone repair needs.

  • Accidental damage: Apple doesn't cover iPhone repairs if they're damaged (physically or otherwise) by an accident.
  • Unauthorized use / modifications: Apple's insistence that the iPhone be unnecessarily restricted motivated many iPhone owners to modify their iPhones, adding services and functions that remain unauthorized by Apple.
  • Excessive service times: Apple's site lists a typical service time of three business days (not counting shipping) for most iPhone repairs.
  • Excessive repair prices: Stories abound online about Apple's pricing structures; consumers seem particularly concerned with the touchscreen, which can cost between two and three hundred dollars to replace (and isn't typically covered under the warranty).
  • High replacement costs: For hardware problems not covered under the warranty, Apple charges fees of $199-$299 for replacement phones. iPhone repair services attempt to undercut this price by actually repairing the phone, rather than replacing it.

In Need of iPhone Repair?

Executive Summary about Iphone Repair by Mark Grey

The main alternative option to the repair of an iPhone that catches my eye time and time again, but seems to be overlooked by so many people is to sell or trade the broken phone in and get rewarded with cash instead of shedding it out to pay for unnecessary repair fees.

You pay to have the repair done on the iPhone, Smartphone or Blackberry and in return of your fee you receive what can be considered a used and refurbished wireless cell phone - however if you were to sell or trade the iPhone with the services that are made available at this recommended site, you would receive a cash payment that would discount the price of a new phone and leave you a very similar fee to the repair cost, except with this process you receive a new iPhone, not a refurbished iPhone!

So the options from the beginning :

  • Pay for the phone repair - leaving you a nasty, unwanted fee in return for a refurbished iPhone.
  • Throw the iPhone away - leaving it to become another piece of the millions of electronic and toxic waste harming the environment for years to come and leaving you with an empty pocket
  • OR - Take a make use of a refurbishment company, complete the simple process, have them pay for the shipping off your old, broken iPhone, receive a payment for it and use that to enable you to browse the market for your BRAND NEW iPhone, SMARTPHONE, or BLACKBERRY.

You will also be eager to now that as opposed to iPhone repair, the refurbishment of your broken phone means the personal information you have stored on it stays personal to you, as the first thing that is done by the team upon receipt of your iPhone is to delete and format any memory - unlike the repair when the aim is to restore the iPhone to it´s working condition, which in theory means checking it´s working ability, inevitably viewing what can be considered personal information to you.
